Here is a movie I made to promote a kickstarter fundraising campaign back in December 2011. I need to know these things for myself, hence my questions for right now so I can at least get some of my video work into public presentations, both promoting a large stills and video project I'm producing, and so people in my audiences can see the content I can produce so they will be excited by both my stills and vids. But I've not had the knowledge of the various formats, so had to get someone to help me there. I've created a couple movies, partially using stills. That's my thought too, in that I believe the content I've been shooting is where it needs to be, that they will communicate with my audiences as i want them too, but the quality of the vids won't be what I'd like it to be, but right now, I'm stepping into the world of Video and the content and my editing skills will serve their purposes for where I am right now. I may see what you'd recommend if I can't find one online. At the least, I need to have a vid "dictionary" so I can understand what each format means and what is an equal format to convert to for editing and also to export in. I need to find a real good, easily understood chart to learn from and refer to, about each format and what they mean, but for me, that will be a difficult task. Of course, it'll be fine for most purposes, but low quality for much projection. I have a feeling that's a totally amateur format, but it's what I've shot most footage in. SO I'm not shooting in real high res yet and am shooting in MP4. And I'm floored with how much storage space Vids take. I'm just working my way into the video world, and don't have real good equipment yet. I've been a pro still shooter for over 40 years, and in many respects, I long for the simplicity of the film days in both stills and vid. This is the thing I struggle with, when there are soooo many possible answers to a technical question.
